Wilf
Gray
Oct 15, 1943 — May 31, 2020
Dad, brother, Uncle Wilf passed away at the Drumheller Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer.
He spent his early years on the farm in Cowley and later in Calgary where he met his future wife Laurel. They were married in 1967 and moved to Edmonton where they welcomed their son Larry in 1968, and their daughter Caron in 1969. Off they went to Ft. McMurray where they welcomed son Christofer in 1973. Wilf's work in the oil and gas industry would take him and his family from Edmonton to Ft. McMurray, Pincher Creek, Peace River, Drayton Valley, Calgary, Sylvan Lake, and finally Morrin where he would retire with his partner, Daune.
Wilf was a coach, teacher, mentor, operator, supervisor, consultant, hobby welder, the guy you called when something went sideways, and lifelong friend to so many people over the years.
He spent his winters of retirement in Mesa, Arizona, where he enjoyed touring the "old west" and where he rediscovered his love for golf. Summer found him in his garage in Morrin tinkering or building something for his yard, family, or neighbors.
Wilf is survived by his loving family - his partner Daune Stephens of Morrin; his sons Larry (Chrissier) and Christofer; his daughter Caron; his grandchildren Jordan, Mikayla, Brendan, Sean, and Liam; his brother Vince (Pat); his sisters Sharon and Tilly (Roy); as well as numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Laurel; his parents Arthur, Myrtle and "Aunty Murl"; and his brother John.
At Wilf's request, there will not be a funeral or memorial service.
