Victor
Cossette
Mar 30, 1931 — May 26, 2022
A limb has fallen from the family tree that says grieve not for me, remember the best times, the laughter, the song, the good life I lived while I was strong.
Victor Cossette passed away peacefully on May 26, 2022, with his daughter by his side.
Victor was from a family of 16 children. He is survived by his daughter Suzanne (Rick); son Paul (Janet); daughter Charmaine (Robert); grandchildren Kimberley (Matt), Amanda (Eric), Kyly (Micheal), and Dustin; and his very special great-grandchildren Linkin, Abrielle, Chase, Kali, Hunter, Ryder, Fynn, and Daxton; as well as his siblings Pat, Ted, Maurice, Claire, Clarence (Butch), Marie (Alec), Delores and Noella; and his beloved Chewie.
Born on the homestead, Victor spent most of his life in Gravelbourg. He married the love of his life and worked as a self-taught handyman. In 2015 he moved to Calgary to be closer to his family. Victor's greatest accomplishments were his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He was adored by his family. He always had a sweet treat for the kids, a rum for the adults, and plenty of wisdom to share.
Victor loved to travel and tell stories about the trips he took. Whether it was riding the roller coasters in Disneyland (at the age of 85) or driving through volcanoes in Hawaii, the stories told time and time again would always bring a smile to his face. He also loved to talk about the old days, the homestead and his brothers and sisters, and how much things changed over his 91 years.
Victor had a passion for hockey and was a devoted Montreal Canadiens fan.
With heavy hearts, we say farewell to a great man; father, grandfather, and great grandfather. Victor is being welcomed home in heaven by his parents Emile and Lucia; his wife Aline; his son Marc; his daughter Carolyn; as well as his siblings Blanche, Wilfred, Lorette, Helen, Roland, Armand, and Marie Anne.
