Russell William Roberts, age 59, passed away peacefully at South Health Campus, Calgary after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

Russell lived his life to the fullest, and lived it his way! He had a deep love of all things mechanical and fast, snowmobiles, 4 wheelers, cars, motorcycles--if it went zoom Russ was in!  This passion led to his career as an owner-operator of his own big rigs. He travelled all over North America and loved discovering new places, often with his children or his nephew as co-pilot.  In his later years he enjoyed travelling to Europe and South America. He enjoyed meeting new friends, and was known for his late-night chats with extended family and old friends across the country.

Russell will be dearly missed by daughters Rochelle Roberts and Shantelle (Jordan) Brenner, and his beloved granddaughter Riley Brenner, who affectionately nicknamed him GaGah.  He is also survived by his mother Joan Roberts, siblings Douglas (Phyllis) Roberts, Dawn (Gerald) McLean, Paula Roberts (Bob Hunt), and several nieces and nephews and their families. Russell will also be missed by dear friends Lil and Preston (deceased) Stewart. He was predeceased by his father Douglas E. Roberts.

Russell was very appreciative of the support of his family. In particular, Russell's best friend and nephew Blake McLean offered unwavering support, especially throughout Russell's illness.

As per Russell's wishes, the family will celebrate his life privately.
