With great sadness, we announce the death of Roy. He passed away peacefully at the Rockyview General Hospital on October 4, 2022.

He was predeceased by his parents Jack & Elsie; and his brother Dallas. Roy is survived by his wife Carol; three children Shaughn, Steven, and Nichole; step-daughter Kimberley; sisters Shirley and Sheree; and brother Donald.

Roy was born in Rockglen, Saskatchewan, and upon finishing high school moved to the west coast of British Columbia. He worked for B.C. Ferries, eventually attaining the rank of Ferry Captain.

Upon his retirement, he moved to Alberta where he took up his second vocation and passion with the world of miniatures. Together with his wife Carol, they opened a Museum of Miniatures (Nanton, Alberta) which they operated until his death.

He was also a devout member of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church.

The family express thanks and gratitude for the respectful and compassionate care he got from the Doctors, Nurses, and staff at the Rockyview General Hospital.

There will be no service at the request of Roy. To honour his memory, lend a helping hand and do a good return as Roy would have wished.  Let's cherish the memories of the times we shared together.  We will remember him well.
