We are heartbroken to announce the passing of our brother Rodney Dale Bannick on Sunday, April 7, 2024. Rodney was born November 10, 1965, to Gloria and Herb Bannick in Hanna, Alberta.

Rod grew up in the small town of Youngstown, where he was well-known and had many lifelong friends. He attended college in Lethbridge for a short time and then spent 10 years working for CN Rail before moving to Calgary, where he became a Journeyman Tile Setter, until his passing. Rod was well-liked and respected by his boss and co-workers.

He is survived by his brothers, Wade (Karen) and Bruce (Debbie); and his sisters, Sharon Mercer and Brenda (Stan) Neigel. He was loved by his nephews, Wayne and Gary Bannick, Jared Mercer, and Ryan Neigel; and his nieces, Devon Pelzmann, Pamela Bannick, Kali Niegel, Vicki Miller and Sherry Satink.

He was predeceased by his parents, Gloria and Herb Bannick, and his brother Jack, We will all miss his bright smile, fun-loving nature and kind heart. There will be no funeral as the family is planning a Celebration of Rod's Life at a later date.
