Obituary

Robert left this world peacefully at home, with his wife and best friend Patty by his side. He fought a courageous battle with Glioblastoma Brain Cancer for less than a year. Robert adored Patty as she did him, they were inseparable.

Robert is survived by his wife Patty; his mother Helen; children Tania and Tom; siblings, Ina, Irma, and Joe; granddaughters Gemma and MacKenzie; his cats Momma and Fuzzy; and numerous other family and friends. Robert was predeceased by his father Walter in August 2009.

Robert was a homebody. He and Patty lived on a beautiful acreage in Rockyview, AB for the last 19 years. They spent countless hours working together at their home from plowing the snow in the winter to cutting the grass in the summer months, in addition to major renovations over the years.

Robert also pursued his keen interest in classic cars, he had begun restoration on a 1966 Chevy Impala convertible (red his favourite colour). Robert loved to travel, he always had a trip planned and would be planning the next trip before the upcoming one was over. Snorkeling and snuba diving with the turtles in Hawaii were among his favourite activities. A Master Electrician by trade, Robert worked at the Alberta Children's Hospital from 2005, until his cancer diagnosis in November 2022.

Patty will be forever grateful to nurses, Kate and Colette from AHS Palliative Home Care. They helped to fulfill Robert's wishes to remain at home. Thank you to the surgeon, residents, doctors, and nurses all of whom cared for Robert through this difficult journey. Any donations may be made to the Canadian Brain Cancer Foundation.

A Celebration of Life will be at a later date.

Psalm 23, King James Version

"The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.

He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.

He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever."
