Robert Peter
Braun
Aug 31, 1937 — Mar 23, 2020
Bob, beloved husband of Patricia, his wife of 55 years, passed away peacefully under Doctor's care on Monday, March 23, 2020.
Bob grew up in Beechy, Saskatchewan where he graduated high school, after which he ventured out to British Columbia, visiting relatives and working at various jobs. Returning, Bob worked on the family farm, in construction and in other jobs locally, eventually joining a farming partnership in 1964 with his parents and brother, Larry, in Kenaston, Saskatchewan.
During his time on the farm, Bob married the love of his life, Pat. After several years, the farming operation was sold and Bob returned to Saskatoon, Saskatchewan where he was a partner in the Embers Restaurant, owned Burnell's Men's Wear, and finally, settled into the construction business, building residential homes. When the Saskatchewan economy took a downturn in 1989, Bob and Pat moved to Calgary, Alberta where he continued building high-end homes until his retirement in 2016. Bob's strong work ethic, integrity, and professionalism earned him a reputation as one of Calgary's top framers in the building trade.
Besides Pat, his wife of 55 years, Bob is survived and forever cherished by his daughters Rhenda and Staci, grandchildren Rochelle, Deanna, Kelsey, Cassidy, Chris, Heavenly and Shylah, as well as eight brothers and sisters: Henry (Gail), Ernie(Glenda), Ben (Donna-Mae), Jerry (Sharon), Marcia Hodgson (Bill), Larry (Susan), Dianna Boutland (Charles) and Sonja Davidson (Doug); sister-in-law, Anna; brother-in-law Richard Ehry (Sharon).
Bob was predeceased by his parents, his brother Art, sister Rita, and brother-in-law Paul Magas.
Currently, precautions prevent any large gathering to honor Bob. When circumstances permit, a family gathering will be held to celebrate Bob's life.
