Reuben Charles
Wilms
Aug 9, 1988 — Oct 11, 2021
Wilms, Reuben Charles, passed into eternity on October 11, 2021, as the result of a car accident. Reuben was the loving husband of Tifannie (nee Hartwell) since September 8, 2018. He will be deeply missed by his parents, Richard and Cora; siblings Amanda (Mike), Sarah (Ron), and Jared (Michelle); nieces and nephews Sam, Jonas, Alida, Victoria, Rosalie, Amelia, Eli, Makayla, and Ezra. Reuben's family by marriage was also very fond of him: Mother-in-law Kathryn (Paul); Father-in-law Rob (Victoria); sisters and brothers Aleesha (son Hunter), Brodie, Brett, Brittany, David, Stephanie, Curtis, Wes, Greg. His death is mourned by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Reuben was born in Lindsay, Ontario, on August 9, 1988, where he lived until attending Redeemer University. Armed with a BA in Kinesiology, ready for a new job and a new adventure, he moved to Calgary, Alberta, where he worked at a bakery for a few years before returning to school to become a paramedic. In April 2020 he made another career shift when he and Tifannie began working together at Entheos Retreat Centre.
Reuben had a slightly off-kilter sense of humour, a particular brand of wit so dry, you sometimes had to look for the glint in his eye to know if he was joking. He enjoyed sports, his 6'6" frame giving him an advantage as a middle in volleyball, and he also had a life-long love of board games, especially when his skill as a strategist could give him a win. After moving to Calgary, Reuben fell in love with the mountains, enjoying hiking trips with Tif and their beloved dogs, Kita and Micco. Reuben's consistent faith in God gave him a stable foundation for his life. He is already missed.
If desired, memorial donations can be made to the Trellis Society (formerly Boys and Girls Club) in Calgary, where Reuben had volunteered.
