It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt Rena Carnahan (nee Bridgeman). She peacefully departed this world on June 24, 2023, leaving behind a legacy of love, compassion, and cherished memories.

Born on May 3, 1951, Rena brought light and joy to the lives of those around her. She was a remarkable individual, known for her huge heart, unwavering strength, and unwavering dedication and generosity to her family, friends, and community.

During Rena's life she enjoyed adventures that saw her reside in Brandon, Victoria, Edmonton, Calgary, McAuley, Airdrie, and Crossfield. During these adventures Rena was also able to travel to Niagara Falls Ontario, Whitehorse Yukon, Nashville Tennessee, Playa del Carmen Mexico, and Cabo San Lucas Mexico. Rena's passion was family, from chasing her kids around, to spending as much time as possible with her siblings and parents playing cards, being at the beach or just sipping beverages around a good ole campfire.

In her personal relationships, Rena was an inspiration, always ready with a listening ear, sage advice, and a comforting presence. She had an innate ability to make others feel valued and loved, leaving an indelible mark on every life she touched.

Rena's absence will be deeply felt by her loving family, her sons, Sean (Michele) Carnahan, and Bryce (Amanda) Carnahan; grandchildren, Reese Carnahan, Colby Carnahan, Tristen Johnston, Alastar Carnahan, Connor Carnahan, Declan Carnahan, Logann Carnahan, and Jaxson Thys; siblings, Helen (Dale) Ford, Diane Bergquist, and Harvey (Heather) Bridgeman; as well as many nieces and nephews, including Cori (John) Van Engelen, whom she shared an extra special bond with and even lived with together for a period of ten years. Rena was predeceased by her parents, Lorne & Edith Bridgeman, and brother-in-law Brian Bergquist.

During this time of grief, let us remember Rena as a beacon of strength, a source of inspiration, and a symbol of love. She has left an indelible imprint on our hearts, and her memory will continue to guide and comfort us in the days to come.

A celebration of Rena's life will be held on August 27th, 2023, at 2:00 pm, at Monterey Estates Recreation Centre, (40 Mockingbird Drive, Brandon, Manitoba). Friends, family, and all those whose lives were touched by Rena are welcome to join in honoring her memory.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada, in honor of Rena Carnahan, to continue the research and education around stroke.

We extend our deepest condolences to the family and friends of Rena during this difficult time. May you find solace and strength in the cherished memories we all hold dear. May the soul of our dearly departed rest in eternal peace.
