Reine Cameron (Mailhiot) was born on July 2, 1943, on the homestead in St. Claude, Manitoba. She lived there with her Father, Mother, and siblings, Jerry, Gilberte, Vivanne, and Marcel. This is where Reine and her siblings went to school; she met many friends, including a good friend, Lorraine Collette, who remained in contact, until her passing.

Later the family relocated to Haywood, Manitoba, then Redvers, Saskatchewan, where Reine lived with other arrival of siblings, to the family, Maurice, Lucy, Lucille, Laurette, and Paulette.

In Redvers, Reine met her husband, Weldon Cameron, where they raised four wonderful children, Rose Annetts, Cecile Cameron, Micheal Cameron, and Rene Cameron. Weldon and Reine Cameron lived in Storthoaks, Saskatchewan, most of their lives, where Weldon worked on the Cameron Farm and Reine was a dedicated housewife. She and the family cherished many family gatherings and visits with her Mother, sisters, and brothers. Most of Reine's family knew her, by her nickname, 'Mama Cash', as they called Weldon "Johnny Cash".

In 1999, Weldon had a stroke and was transferred into a long-term care facility, until his passing in 2002. Soon afterward Reine moved to McCreary, Manitoba, to live near her daughter, Rose Annetts, husband Mike, and their three kids, Jenna, Brendan, and Kaitlin. She lived in McCreary for many years, creating new friends, and became a regular card player, at the senior's community center. In the year 2006, after the passing of her daughter, Rose Annetts, Reine relocated to Calgary, to live with her other daughter, Cecile, and two sons, Micheal and Rene Cameron.

A new life was waiting for Reine, where her son Micheal & family took her on many car trips to Lake Louise, Banff, Waterton Park, Drumheller etc.

She also experienced winter ice sculptures, Christmas fair, Calgary Stampede, parade, VIP seats for the rodeo & lunch, live concerts, and movie theaters. Another pass time was visiting heritage park, where she had a train and boat ride. Reine was very thrilled to see antique cars. Who knew she had a love for cars!

Her daughter Cecile, would take her for a mother-daughter trip, to Bragg Creek. They would shop and get mom a pair of hummingbird earrings, at the store called, 'One Of A Kind'. Afterward, they would treat themselves to Reine's favorite, cherry ice cream. Reine was a regular at the Farmers Market, she loved to shop for special items like cookbooks, earrings, and her favorite foods, cherries, and pastries.

Reine had no fear of the big city, her son Rene, taught her how to navigate and travel on all the buses and C-Trains throughout, all four corners of the city. She was a real energizer bunny, that never stopped and lived life to the fullest. Other outings were, getting her hair and nails done, grocery and clothes shopping, gardening, and planting flowers. Dollarama was her favorite store.

Reine also enjoyed visits from her loving grandchildren Jenna, Brendan, and Kaitlin. She was proud to be a Grandmother and a Great-Grandmother of three adorable great-grandchildren Maddie, Ryker, and Zoey.

Although she didn't get a chance to visit with all of her great-grandchildren, due to covid, she always enjoyed seeing them grow up, viewing their pictures and posts on Facebook. This was Grandma's highlight every day! She also loved walking her dogs, at different parks, with family members.

Reine will sadly be missed, predeceased by her daughter Rose, she is survived by her children Cecile, Micheal, and Rene Cameron; grandchildren Jenna Gamache (Tim), Brendan Annetts (Holly), Kaitlin Annetts (Brayden Delaurier); and great-grandchildren, Maddie Gamache, Ryker Delaurier and Zoey Gamache.

Mom was a determined, driven, independent, and gentlewoman. She also would surprise family with unexpected little gifts, just to show them how much she cared. Mom was also kind to animals, she enjoyed her little dogs and cats and showed great love towards them, except if they slept on her bed.

She also connected with her entire network of friends and family, over the phone daily. It was a short daily phone call routine, just to check in and say 'Hi' and to report the weather forecast. We are told that everyone already misses those phone calls ☹

Mom was the dishwasher Queen, as she was determined to get those dishes done immediately, even if you weren't finished your plate, sometimes.

We will always carry your memories in our hearts Mom, and we will never forget you and what great sacrifices, you have always made for us.

We love you and will cherish you forever,
