Raymond
Schindelka
Jan 28, 1935 — Feb 15, 2022
With deep sadness but also hearts filled with gratitude and love, we say farewell, for now, to our beloved father and grandfather, Raymond Phillip Schindelka, who passed unexpectedly at his home on February 15, 2022.
Ray's innate perfectionism and attention to detail, well supported his successful career as a civil engineer. Pre-retirement and post, he loved fishing with a passion, enjoyed a well-poured rum daddy, and could belt out a robust and well-tuned rendition of blue Spanish Eyes whenever the occasion called for it, which for him equaled any festive gathering.
His integrity was beyond reproach. He was honest to a fault. We all learned to think twice before asking what he thought of our new hairstyle or outfit, for the man could not tell a lie, but when we really needed him, he was always the first one there to offer his love and generous support.
Ray was a special and unique person and our world will not be quite the same without him, but his memory will live on in our hearts and minds as we remember the myriad of ways he enriched our lives.
