Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Patricia Audrey Page (nee Norrish) on Saturday, April 1, 2023, at the age of 78. She died peacefully at the Foothills Hospital in Calgary, Alberta with several family members at her side.

Patricia was born May 5, 1944, in Montreal, Quebec, to William and Audrey Norrish. She grew up in Westmount and graduated from Westmount High. After attending McGill University, she worked as a Phys Ed teacher for a couple of years, went backpacking through Europe, and then came back to start her family in 1969. In July of 1981, Pat and her two daughters moved from Montreal to Calgary to start their new chapter.

Pat met her true love, Malcolm in 1982, where they created an amazing life full of adventures. She continued her teaching career through the 80s by teaching jazzercise out of her home and sailing off the coast of Vancouver Island.

She enjoyed many passions in life: dance, jazz music (the crew at the Ironwood Stage and Grill referred to her as their Patti Page), sailing, sewing, baking, gardening, decorating, knitting, watching Malcolm drumming, family, chocolate and most importantly, collecting bears.

In 1990, Pat and Malcolm went on the biggest adventure of their lives. They sold their house and went sailing on their boat, Tainan of Barkley, in the Caribbean for eight years. After surviving two hurricanes, they returned to Calgary in time for the birth of their second grandson. Pat and Malcolm continued to enjoy sailing off Vancouver Island and split their time between Tainan and their family in Calgary.

Pat will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 38 years Malcolm Page; her daughters, Jennifer Hilton-James (Mike), and Debbie Gillund (Garth); her grandchildren, Kyle Sanderman (Andressa), Tyler Sanderman, Em Gillund, and Grace Gillund; and her great-grandson Oliver Sanderman Muniz. She will also be lovingly remembered by her big sister Bonnie McLean; her little brother Bill Norrish (Colleen); as well as several nieces, nephews, and many friends.

Her family would like to thank the amazing staff at the Foothills Hospital for all their kindness and compassion.
