Obituary

It is with saddened hearts that our family announces the passing of Patricia "Trish" Lee Fletcher, on Tuesday, February 14, 2023. At the young age of 57, she had lost her resiliency to live.

Patricia was born on March 29,1965, in Yorkton, Saskatchewan, a third daughter to Garry and Marion (nee Stone) Fletcher. At a very young age, Trish developed a love for animals and went on to have numerous fur babies throughout her lifetime. It was only recently, that she suffered the loss of her beloved Chihuahua, Thor. Trish played the piano and flute during Elementary School (St. Mary's). She also loved to sing! Trish attended St. Joseph Junior High, Sacred Heart High School (Yorkton) and Nepean High School (Ottawa). She completed her GED and Administrative Assistant course at Saskatoon Community and Business Colleges (1984), where she went on to work in the hospitality industry. Her enthusiasm for working with people, led her to study Early Childhood Education in Edmonton. (1990). She had a thriving Day Home business for 5 years in Red Deer. Finally, her continued enjoyment for learning brought her to Red Deer College where she studied the Personal Care Attendant Program (2001). This is where Trish developed a passion for helping others.

One of her greatest life fulfillments was her career in health care. She worked at a Hospice, and on Dementia and Oncology Units throughout her nineteen years as a PCA. Working with patients brought her so much joy! Sadly, in 2020, she had a workplace accident which whisked her away from a career with Alberta Health Services that she so loved. Trish had a special place in her heart for her three grandchildren. She was so proud of them! Spending time with Aiden, Keira, and Isabella always put a smile on her face!

Trish was surrounded by numerous friends from both outside her work, at work, and AA. She valued and cherished her friends and spoke highly of them. Trish was confident, funny, and dressed to impress! Everyone knew when she entered a room. We will dearly miss her vibrant personality and gorgeous smile!

She is survived by her mother Marion; sisters, Catherine (Carey), and Maureen (David); brother Brad; her former husband Brian; daughters, Kaitlan (Tyler), and Nicole (Ryan); and grandchildren, Aiden, Keira, and Isabella. She is also survived by her nieces, Evelyn, and Skye; great-niece Abigail; nephews, Andrew (Mary), and Jonathon; step-nieces, Carolyn (Ryan), and Theah; step-nephew Casey (Melissa); great step-nephew Jasper; and cousins, Carl, Cameron (Debbie), Laurie, Blair, Brian, Joan (Ron), David, Greg, and Karen (Dave). Trish was predeceased by her father Garry (2020), her Aunt Lynne Fletcher (2022), and Uncle Gil Fletcher (2022).

A family memorial to celebrate Patricia's life will be held in Yorkton, at a later date, where she will be buried in the Fletcher Family Plot with her father Garry. In lieu of flowers, we invite you to make a donation to the Canadian Mental Health Association (cmha.calgary.ab.ca/).
