Ottavio Marchesan, 81 of Calgary, Alberta passed away in hospital on October 22, 2020. He was born in Castello di Godego (TV), Italy on September 13, 1939. He is survived by his spouse Erminia Marchesan, two daughters, a son, and three grandchildren. Ottavio arrived in Canada in 1961 and married Erminia in 1964. He worked in construction for many years. Ottavio enjoyed the simple pleasures of life: telling jokes, chatting, and visiting with friends and family. He enjoyed attending functions within the Italian community and hunting with his male counterparts. Ottavio graciously shared his joy for gardening, animals, and love of nature with his children and grandchildren. After many years of being ill this summer, he began a long battle for the last months of his life. He demonstrated patience, bravery, and finally acceptance of joining those that he hasn't seen for far too long. He was surrounded by family as he wished. We will forever cherish the fond childhood memories. We will continue to share the qualities that he was once known for compassion, hard work, and valuing time with friends and family.
