Obituary

Michael passed away peacefully after a brief illness at the age of 87. He will be dearly missed by his loving wife Sandi and his five daughters Tammy (Eric), Kathy (Cliff), Jennifer (Bob), Karin (Derek) and Christy (John). Alongside, his pride and greatest joy, are his eight grandchildren; Alexis, Jordan, Michael, Brooke, Mitchell, Danielle, Jocelyn and Chlӧe, who will all miss the special moments they shared with him.

Michael was a teacher with the Calgary Board of Education for over 30 years. He was an avid golfer, gardener and a superb cook, who excelled at preparing grand family meals and Ukrainian delicacies.

Michael was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He lived a wonderful life and touched many people with his outgoing personality, charm and humour. He is survived by sisters June (Gary), Betty (Richard) and Darlene (Frank), and is predeceased by his mother Eva, father Nick, brothers Harry and Leonard and sister Bernice.

A Celebration of Michael's life will take place on Friday, June 10th, 2022 at 2 pm at Evan J. Strong Funeral Services North, located at 3625 – 12th St. NE. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Michael's name to the Canadian Cancer Society.
