Mark Leonard
Eberwein
Jan 28, 1959 — Mar 19, 2024
It is with profound sadness that the family of Mark Leonard Eberwein announces his peaceful passing on Tuesday, March 19, 2024, at the age of 65 years. Mark was born in Medicine Hat and grew up in Sherwood Park with his mother, Lynn Eberwein, and brothers Steve and Todd. During high school, Mark had various part-time jobs, including working in local restaurants, where he developed his cooking skills. He also bought his first motorcycle, which took him on several adventures with friends. In 1980, Mark moved to Calgary with his girlfriend, Susan Oliver. During this time, Mark started his own eavestrough company. These years were filled with trips to the mountains, skiing, concerts, playing the board game Risk for days, Euchre tournaments, Halloween parties, and lots of friends and laughter. Susan and Mark reconnected later in life and remained close friends. Mark later met Angela Rundle and her children, Chris and Carrie. Mark was very involved in Chris and Carrie's life during this time. Mark worked in a sign shop, and they spent these years camping, coaching baseball, fishing, and skiing; Chris and Carrie remained close to Mark for the rest of his life. Mark enjoyed hang gliding, golfing, snow skiing, water skiing, fly fishing, playing pool, and his many trips to the Bucerias area of Mexico with family and friends. Mark loved nothing better than music and making people laugh. It was only natural that he created a business that combined these two passions. Mark made many lifelong friends in Calgary while running his pub karaoke business, Name That Tune. He was deeply moved that so many friends came to see him during his last days in hospice. Mark is survived by his brothers Steve (Monica) and Todd; nieces, Jolene Moyes and Nancy Meister and their families; and Chris Rundle and Carrie Rundle. He was predeceased by his mother, Lynn, in 2016. At Mark's request, there will not be a memorial or remembrance service.
