It is with great sadness that the family of Marge (affectionately known as Nanny), fell asleep in death, to be reunited with Don (Poppa); son Gregory; and granddaughter Stacy.

Born in Kingsclere, Hants, England, she met the love of her life Don, during the war at a dance in Ashtead. Don was serving in Sicily, Italy, and proposed to Marge via Airmail letter. They married in England on April 7, 1945.

As one of the many 'War Brides', she sailed on the Letitia II Ocean liner in 1946 to rejoin Don in Canada. Arriving at Pier 21 in Halifax, Marge then rode the rails to Saskatchewan to the family homestead in Hudson Bay Junction.

Don and Marge took their first three children and moved to Vancouver in 1952. The next seven children were born in Vancouver as Don worked for Trans Canada Airlines which became Air Canada and Marge managed the household.

A promotion in 1966 had the family move to Calgary and settled there.

Over the years they travelled to many places around the world and always made new and lasting friends.

Nanny leaves behind her children, Les (Carol), Teresa (Thys), Rod (Melanie), Phil (Debby), Tim (Kathy), Donna (Len), Lisa (John), Lindsay, and Colleen (Brent); nine-teen grandchildren, twenty-seven great-grandchildren, and so many extended family and friends. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend to all.

The family would like to send love and thanks to the wonderful caregivers at Bow View Manor, Beaverbrook Neighbourhood, and the Recreation Staff for all their loving care and kindness over the past few years.

A private graveside service will take place on Thursday, July 20, 2023, at 11:30. A Celebration of Life will follow at 1:00 PM at Parkridge Estates Community Hall (222 Burroughs Circle, N.E).
