With an abundance of love and heavy hearts, we regrettably announce the peaceful and heartbreaking passing of Yan Ma on Wednesday, April 10, 2024.

Yan came from Beijing, China, where she attended university and married her husband, Morris. Shortly thereafter, Yan enjoyed life in Germany for a few years with Morris, prior to immigrating to Canada, along with their daughter, Lynda. After working in Toronto for 7 years, Yan and Morris spent the next two decades at their new home in Calgary. Yan firmly believes in Karma and values helping others. As a daughter who had parents with cancer, she made the decision to leave the engineering field and to dedicate herself in healthcare.

Yan has been a phenomenal mother, daughter, wife, sister, friend, and most importantly, a remarkable person. She will be remembered for her tenacity, independence, kindness, caring and wisdom.

Yan has already been missed immensely and immeasurably by all of us. We trust and know with certainty that Yan is now reunited with her parents. May you rest in eternal peace, Yan. We will hold you dearly in our hearts and we love you very very much.

We are extremely grateful for the copious amount of support, that was bounteously given from all family members, friends, colleagues, doctors, and staff members at the Foothills Medical Center and the South Health Campus, Calgary, Canada.
