Lillian Kay
Duncan
Jun 29, 1937 — Oct 3, 2021
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Lillian Kay Duncan, age 84, in Calgary, Alberta, on Sunday, October 3, 2021.
Despite being amazingly healthy, a series of late detected conditions brought her great life to a rapid, peaceful end. Kay is survived by her husband, Cornelius (Casey) Wynker; son, Harvey; daughter, Debora; and grandchild Anali (Regan).
Kay was the last born of seven children, raised in a little house on the prairie, near Ardrossan Alberta. Moving to Edmonton as a young woman, she soon married Richard Duncan (and clan Duncan) and they moved to Calgary, raising children Harvey and Debora in the vibrant new neighborhood of Brentwood.
The culture changed in the 70's and many mothers started getting jobs. Kay began working, first in retail, then at an upscale dress shop, Boutique D'Or, followed by many great years as a lead receptionist for Oil Company, Canadian Hunter.
In the late 80's she met Casey Wynker and they began a wonderful lifestyle together. They enjoyed travelling the world, motor-homing across North America, and later settling as Snowbirds at the wonderful 'Fountain of Youth' in Southern California.
Kay was known as a very stylish dresser, a chic home designer, an inspired cook, and a hostess of lavish dinner parties. She was surrounded with wonderful friends and family- truly adored by all who knew her. Kay was also a lover of animals. She will be remembered for springing up from the sofa, whenever the sensor light came on, alerting her to deer, wild animals, and birds trekking through her back yard. Watching these animals thrilled her to the core. All things considered, Kay led a most wonderful life... She will be missed by all who knew her.
