Leona Alene Willmer passed away peacefully at Agecare Skypointe, Calgary, Alberta on May 14, 2022.  She was predeceased by her husband, Gerald Gunnard Willmer in December 2003 and her sister, Marjorie Smolsic. Leona is survived by her daughter, Penny Jean Asplund (Douglas) of Calgary, Alberta and her son, Gary Allan Willmer (Debbie) of Red Deer, Alberta and their two sons, Nicholas John Willmer (Erin) of Red Deer, Alberta, and Cameron Russell Willmer (Erin) of Medicine Hat, Alberta.

Leona loved music and loved to dance. Leona and Gerald enjoyed many years of square dancing and round dancing both in Alberta and Arizona and in later years ballroom dancing. Much time was spent camping and RV'ing in support of their love of dancing.

The family requests in lieu of flowers that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Society of Calgary .
