Obituary

Lawrence Gooch of High River, AB passed away peacefully at Foothills Hospital on Wednesday, May 11th, 2022.

Lawrence was a father, grandpa, brother, and friend to many. His sense of humour, although sarcastic, was quite contagious and you couldn't help but laugh at his jokes and insults. He was the best kind of person who will be missed by so many.

Lawrence had a love for many things in his life. One of those including horses, he outrode for various Chuckwagon outfits at different rodeos following in the footsteps of his father Bob Gooch.  Most memorable was winning Calgary Stampede when outriding for Bobby Cosgrave in 1967.

Lawrence also worked in the film industry for many years. His success shone through with the many friendships he formed with cast members, crew mates, and the numerous films/series he had been a part of.

Lawrence could be described as an old grouch with a big heart.

Lawrence is survived by his son Stacey Gooch; his youngest granddaughter Morgan Gooch; his sisters Lynda Cowling and Terry Gooch; his brothers Garry and Garth; Uncle Bill Gooch; former wife Carol; and many cousins; and the one he referred to as the daughter he never had, Rachelle Richter-Fagerholm. He will not be entering the other side alone. He will be joining parents Doris and Bob Gooch; his former wife Elvera; his son Timothy Wayne Gooch; and his eldest granddaughter Dakotah Leigh Gooch.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
