John George
Silvester
May 20, 1943 — Feb 20, 2022
Beebe
It is with great sadness that we share the passing of John George Silvester of Beebe in Calgary, Alberta on February 20, 2022.
John was born on May 20, 1943 and was predeceased by his mother Phyllis Muriel Silvester (née Bronson) and John George Silvester of Beebe, Quebec. He spent a good part of his life in the Eastern Townships and spoke fondly about his days in Quebec. He was not one to let the grass grow beneath his feet, and also lived in Montreal, Ontario, Calgary and briefly in New Brunswick. Like the words to one of his favorite Willie Nelson songs, he loved to be "On the Road Again" and spent several enjoyable years of his retirement traveling in his RV. He loved a good country song, playing his guitar and singing.
John is survived by his wife Marilyn Silvester in Canmore, daughter Wendy Simpson in Calgary, daughter Pamela Wyatt, son-in-law Richard Wyatt, grandchildren Alexandra and Cole in Rhode Island, sister Janet Alderman in St. Catharines, nieces and nephew. He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends.
As per John's wishes, there will be no service. Cremation has taken place and there will be a small gathering held at the Woodside Cemetery in Beebe, Quebec in July. Donations can be made in his name to the Canadian Heart Association .
