With heavy hearts, we announce that Janice Armstrong nee Bowhay passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at South Health Campus on March 1, 2022, at the age of 83.

Janice is predeceased by her mother Marjory; husband bill; son Alan; and great-grandson Phoenix.

Jan was born in Vancouver, BC, and raised in Cochrane where she met and married Bill in 1955 putting down roots in Calgary. Jan (Mama) is survived by her son Ken (Michelle); daughters Sherry (Brad) Barrett, Tracy Colonna (Peter Karim); nine grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and numerous extended family.

Jan and bill retired to Penticton, BC eventually returning to Calgary to be close to their children and grandchildren in 2018. Janice was always on the go raising her family and numerous foster children only being slowed by heart and lung disease which finally took her life.

We would like to sincerely thank Dr. Colman and the staff both in emergency and on Unit 78 at South Health Campus for the care they gave to our beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. We would also like to thank all the staff at Agecare Walden Heights for the care they provided over the past month while she was a resident there.

At her request, there will be no memorial service.
