Jakub Mateusz Kornacki "Sonny", age 36, passed away at home on Wednesday, May 10, 2023.

He was born in Warsaw, Poland, to Bozena Tworek and Janusz Kornacki, on June 9, 1987. He grew up in Nieporet with his lovely brother Bartosz Kornacki, while having fun with cousins and neighborhood friends. He immigrated to Calgary, Canada, in 2002 where he attended St. Francis High School and developed lifelong friendships and an appreciation for learning.

His hobbies included bodybuilding, riding motorcycles, playing guitar, drawing, listening to music, and reading James Patterson's books.

He was a devoted father to Toni Kornacki and a wonderful partner to Aleksandra Petryk. Jakub had the biggest heart and the most beautiful smile. He was funny and everyone loved his jokes. He was fearless, strong-willed, and stubborn, but those traits defined Jakub. They were part of who he was, and his strength undoubtedly helped him deal with life's challenges. He loved me and you, he loved us- people. This is how we will remember him.

He is survived by his loving mother Bozena Tworek; brother Bartosz Kornacki; son Toni Kornacki; loving partner Aleksandra Petryk; uncles, Richard Tworek, and Janusz Tworek; as well as beloved cousins, friends, and ex-wife Anita Kawycz.

Funeral Mass will be held at St. Joseph's Catholic Church (640-19 Avenue, NW) on Thursday, June 1, 2023, at 7:00 p.m.

Jakub Mateusz Kornacki's ashes will be transported to his motherland in Poland and buried beside his loved grandparents.
