It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Grant Bradley Brandon at the age of 64.

Grant was born in Wetaskiwin, Alberta on August 23, 1958, to parents Darlene and Ronald Wing. Grant's childhood dream was to become a farmer or rancher. In his younger years, he enjoyed spending time at his Great Uncle Carl's farm and even dreamed of owning it one day. A particularly memorable experience was a frightful encounter with a turkey! Grant recalled being chased by their giant turkey and although all ended well, he remained wary of birds after that. After graduating high school Grant decided to pursue a career in the oil field and started working with his Dad, Vern Brandon. Drilling soon became a passion that he and Vern shared and this led to a close relationship between them.

Grant is survived by his mother Darlene Brandon; and siblings Dan (MJ), Lori (Warren), Kim, Leanne, and Corey (Kendra) and their families. Grant is also survived by his son Brad (Cathy) Cook; and his two beautiful granddaughters Casey and Hailey, which he absolutely adored; and his daughter Nicole Cook.

Grant had a great love for all animals, cherishing his many beloved dogs and cats throughout his life, especially Kozar. He was an avid sports fan and shared a common love for hockey with his son. They were both passionate Detroit Red Wings fans and enjoyed many games together. He will be deeply missed and remembered, that's a definite!
