Obituary

It's with great sadness to announce the passing of Gerald Stanley Tripp at the Foothills hospital, with his daughter by his side, on the early morning of September 11, 2022, in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. He was 78 yrs old.

Born in Fredericton, NB in 1943, he was the second oldest of three boys.

Gerry is survived by his daughter Sari Tripp and many loving friends and family. Although no one would suspect him to be a sentimental man, he held onto many physical memories from friends and family such as letters, photos, and videos from many years past.

He loved his grandchildren Jace Sanderson and Kayla Sanderson deeply and held onto so many mementos of their childhood.

Many years of his life he spent working as a long-haul truck driver. He loved life on the road. Many of us referred to him as The Wanderer.

He spent the majority of his life living in Calgary with his daughter and grandchildren. He made a point to stay active in their lives and always wanted to make memories taking them to different places like Drumheller to see dinosaur bones, the Calgary zoo, and several camping and fishing trips.

In his long lifespan, he enjoyed many years hunting. He collected so many trophies over the years and couldn't get enough time in the Rocky Mountains. He loved tattoos and fell asleep while having a mural done on his back, "I don't feel pain" he said.

Many times, in his youth, he was bold and daring (to say the least). The city of Fredericton, NB will always remember him as the King Pin of Fredericton.

Gerry, you were deeply loved and will be missed. Especially your uplifting smile and hearty boisterous laugh. Rest In Peace #1 dad.
