Geoffrey Alan
Boc
Mar 28, 1991 — Sep 18, 2024
Geoffrey Alan Boc passed away on September 18, 2024, at the age of 33, from brain cancer.
Geoff was born to Marlene and Les Boc, in Calgary, Alberta, on March 28, 1991, where he has lived his entire life. He was a kind and gentle soul, that always could bring light and humour into any situation. Geoff prioritized fun, and never took life too seriously; a big kid at heart. He was adored by his daughter, as well as his nephews. He was known for his sarcasm and frequent commentary about pop culture, song lyrics, and movies. He never declined a Caesar, especially on a Saturday afternoon. He spent much time playing video games, cooking and building or collecting Lego.
Geoff never liked saying he was "battling cancer" as battles are lost, and of course, he didn't want to lose. He beat many statistics during his 23-month journey with an untreatable illness. He never lost, instead he won in many ways; showing his family and everyone around him the power of the human spirit and hope. He was determined to take control of his diagnosis despite his prognosis and attended school, got married, and adopted a dog with his wife to continue building a life. Geoff showed extraordinary resilience and humility every day. His story attracted kindness from strangers, and actually made the world look like a better place.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife and soulmate, Lauren Anderson, his daughter, Madison Williams-Boc, his parents, Marlene and Les Boc, his sister Alyssa O'Brien and her husband Kyle O'Brien and their children Declan and Tristan, along with his in-laws, uncles, aunts, cousins, and many close friends who were like family to him.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Rosedale Hospice in honour of him. This is where Geoffrey spent his last weeks and was offered peace, dignity and outstanding care. https://www.hospicecalgary.ca/support/donations/
