It's with great sorrow, that we announce the passing of our mother Erminia Marchesan, on Monday, September 11, 2023. She was surrounded by family and friends throughout her stay in the hospital.

Despite not feeling well, she found the strength to visit with friends, and through video calls, with her family in Italy. Erminia leaves behind her children, Ezio, Valeria and Virna, as well as three grandchildren. During her stay in the hospital, she demonstrated courage, patience and even her witty sense of humour. She shared that humour and quick wit with family, friends, and hospital staff.

We will cherish and fondly remember a mother with a zest for life, who gave smiles, hugs, and kisses regularly. She made friends easily through volunteering and joining the community's 50+ groups and church. When she was younger, she was very fashionable and did her best to make sure her children were dressed nicely too.

She was crafty, making beautiful sweaters, scarfs, hats and slippers for her children, grandchildren and even our dolls when we were children. Her paintings are colourful and will continue to bring us joy. Erminia spent time with the Italian community and church. She taught us to be grateful, resilient, and honest, to love unconditionally and to make the most out of what God has given you.
