Dennis George
Braunwarth
Jun 5, 1949 — Apr 23, 2024
Dennis George Braunwarth, surrounded by family and friends and his wife Joyce by his side, passed away in her arms on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, at the age of 74.
His strength, values and love of life are shared by Joyce and their daughter Sandy, their son Adam (Christina) and 2 granddaughters Brianna and Sienna. He is survived by his sister Rita, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
Dennis met Joyce in 1968 at the Olympic Bowling Alley; he married the love of his life in June 1972.
Born and raised in Calgary, Dennis held his 4th class engineering.
Nickname Bugsy, his passion was baseball. He was a great pitcher and played ball with his son many days. His granddaughter Brianna loves the game too now. His favorite sports teams were the New York Yankees, Montreal Canadians, and Green Bay Packers.
Dennis' favorite past times were golfing, pool, bowling, and mountain hikes; most weekends getting out for hours ending up who knows where, finding fossils and counting wildlife with his daughter. Camping, fishing, cards, board games, and travelling with his family was what he lived for and he was always up to take in any foster animals.
Dennis will be remembered for the countless hours spent drawing for the kids, being a big kid himself with a gentle soul and kind heart.
Though he struggled at the end, he never lost his sense of humor and even managed to double skunk Joy at crib. May the memory of his laugh forever bring comfort to all who knew him.
His final journey was full of hiccups and was far too fast.
What a wonderful life he lived — he will be missed but never forgotten
