It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of David Gerard Boutilier of Calgary, on Monday, February 6, 2023, following a brave fight with aggressive Cancer at the age of 70.

David Boutilier was born on July 28, 1952, in St. Johns, Newfoundland, and moved to Calgary, Alberta, in 1966.

David enjoyed spending time with family and friends and loved to talk about politics or "shoot the breeze." He was a best friend to many and would always stop in regularly for a visit. He was the kind of guy who would give you the shirt off his own back. David was a free-spirited, outspoken man who loved travelling and spending time in the outdoors. David made efforts to rekindle relationships with his children and was a loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. David will be dearly missed by all those whose hearts he touched.

David is survived by his six children, Tammy Laite (Spouse Barry), David Boutilier (Spouse Krista), Rodney Boutilier (Spouse Carla), Bradley Boutilier, Jennifer Gutierrez (Spouse Chris), Kyle Boutilier (Spouse Joanie); and grandchildren, Donovan, Nolan, Alanna, Jenna, Kristian, Hunter, Xander, Emery, Mile, Ivy, Makayna; and great-grandchildren, Jackson, and Kadence. He is also survived by his brothers, Dan, Douglas and sister, Ellen, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. David was predeceased by his parents, Louis Gerard Boutilier and Mary Gladys Boutilier.

We want to give special thanks to the staff at Foothills Hospital and Southwood Hospice for their care and compassion.

A service will be held on Saturday, March 4, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at the Evan J. Strong Funeral Home – North (3625-12 St NE, Calgary).
