Carla Diane Olson was a caring mother, grandmother, wife, sister, and friend. She left this world suddenly on July 12th, 2023.

Born on March 3, 1959, to Arthur and Lorraine Fisher in Kamloops, BC, Carla was a spirited child who roamed the Valleyview neighbourhood, and later went on to graduate from Kam High in 1977. She is survived by her two siblings Juanita and Trent.

Carla married her husband, Harvey in 1983 and they went on to live in Victoria, BC, and Edmonton, AB, before settling down in Calgary, AB, where they had their two beloved daughters, Lyndsay (Darren) and Andrea (Adam).

Education was a passion for Carla. She graduated from the University of Calgary in 1998 and continued taking online courses throughout the remainder of her life. Carla shared her passion for learning with many over the years. She was a math tutor in her community for over 20 years, volunteered at Families Matter weekly, and assisted a wonderful family from Syria.

The simplest pleasures brought great joy to Carla. She was an avid gardener, golfer, and baker but her greatest joy came from spending time with her three precious grandchildren, Genevieve, Charlie, and Ellie, as well as her beloved rescue dog Finlay.

Her sudden departure has left a noticeable absence. She will be dearly missed but forever in the hearts of the people who knew her.

While Carla's family grieves their loss, they are choosing to remember her in a way that honors her spirit. A Celebration of Life will be held on August 13, 2023. Please contact the family for more details.
