Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the unexpected passing of Armin Bruesewitz (Jim) at the High River General Hospital at age 76.

Jim traveled to many places in North America and throughout Canada. Along his travels, he made many friends, coworkers, and acquaintances who were made to feel like family. He also helped raise and encourage others throughout his travels.

He had a very unique sense of humor that everyone knew and loved. Jim worked in many industries such as truck driving, bricklaying, and retiring as a cab driver in Sparwood, B.C. He very much loved the outdoors. Camping, hunting, fishing, and watching the wildlife. In his later years, he enjoyed his time spent with his roomie Larry (his cat) and feeding the hummingbirds on his patio. Jim loved photography and took many photos throughout his life. Eventually, due to health concerns, and wanting to be closer to family, Jim decided to move to Alberta to live with his daughter Denise in High River. He quickly made friends with neighbors and treated everyone like family.  Jim was predeceased by his mother Edith (Brüsewitz) Verbeek. Survived by his siblings brother Thomas Verbeek and sister Joanne Doris.  Surviving in addition to his siblings are, (eldest son) Rory Booth, and his wife Melanie, (daughter) Joeli booth, and her wife Andrea, (son) Cody Bruesewitz, (daughter) Denise Bruesewitz, and her spouse Jay, (daughter) Melody, and her spouse Jory. Grandchildren include Scott, Finn, Nathan, Nick, Riley, Lilly, and Brooklyn. A Celebration of Life will be held on May 13, 2023. (Jim's birthday).

Jim will be deeply missed by many friends, family, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
