Alexander Paul Collins, age 41, of Calgary, AB, was born October 21, 1981, in Calgary, AB, and passed away on November 25, 2022, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Alex is survived by his mother and stepfather Wendy and Ray Edwardson; father Mark Collins; son Rob; sister Sarah; and stepsister Shauna.

Alex was a shooting star who touched so many lives. His ability to make people smile and laugh with his positive energy was unique. As anyone who met him will attest, there was only one Alex.

His greatest joys were family, gardening, panning for gold, and cats. Although he had many friends, his gentle soul preferred the company of feline friends – especially his companion of almost two decades – Eleanor the cat. As a young man, Alex excelled as a top award-winning PPCLI Army Cadet and represented Alberta in biathlon at the national level.

In accordance with Alex's wishes, there will be no service. However, a Celebration of Life will be held in the spring. A donation to or adoption from the MEOW Foundation would be appreciated in lieu of flowers.
