Agnes
Trifunov
Jun 28, 1928 — Nov 1, 2021
We wish to sadly announce the passing of Agnes Trifunov of Calgary, but also to celebrate the wonderful life she led. Beloved wife of Harry who passed in 2011, Agnes grew up and was married in Regina and enjoyed a career working for the phone company before raising her three children in Southey, Saskatchewan. She enjoyed her retirement years in Calgary along with fun times in Arizona.
She will be sorely missed by her entire family, including her son Jerry and wife Wendy in Calgary who did so much to help her in the twilight of her life along with their sons Alex (Alexi) and Cole (Ryley); her son Rick and wife Kathleen in Ottawa along with their sons David (Erin), Matthew (Rachel) and Aden; and, her daughter Patricia. She was a great-grandmother of four girls, Charlotte, Georgia, Emery, and little Cassandra with whom she was so pleased to share the same birthday. She will be missed by her many friends in Calgary and beyond.
Agnes was proud of her Ukrainian heritage, preparing traditional foods throughout her life, spoiling us all with them, and passing on her techniques to us. She also was very accomplished at Easter egg decorating and taught this art form to many others over the years and into her nineties. She enjoyed traveling with Harry throughout the years including some amazing times in Mexico and continued this after his passing. She also loved the theatre, classical music, and opera. She especially loved everyone telling her that she looked ten years younger than her calendar age, which she truly did! This matched her attitude in life, as she was never afraid to embrace new ideas and technology. She was able to relate to people of all ages and was remarkably tech-savvy for someone in their 90's.
The family thanks Sage Hill Retirement Residence for their kind and exceptional end-of-life care for Agnes. Agnes did not want us to make a big deal of her passing so we will not be holding any services. She will be at peace knowing that she lived a full life with a loving family and will rest well with Harry.
